As parents we all want our children to succeed. There are some "keys" to being successful in gymnastics.
First, having a support system for our athletes is one of the "keys" to success. They need to know that they are supported and find approval from their parents, friends & family in the sport that they have chosen. Being encouraged is another "key" to success. Athletes are hard on themselves already, so they need to have encouragement from their friends and family when they get home from a long and sometimes disappointing practice. Hard work, determination, overcoming adversities, drive, and loving the sport are all "keys" to success in gymnastics. Another "key" to succeeding is learning to work as a team, encouraging other teammates, making corrections and having a good attitude. One of the most important "keys" to success is enjoying the journey. Every gymnast has their own journey with up's, down's, disappointments and reward.
Gymnastics isn't just about winning, it's building character, learning how to deal with adversity, pushing through the hard times and enjoying the great moments. The discipline and drive that it takes to train as a gymnast is like no other sport.
Having upstanding character, being responsible, successful, well-rounded, well-spoken, and educated "women" in this world of gymnastics is a feat all on it's own and one that our coaches & parents a-like are striving for in every gymnast.
So, give the "keys" to success to your gymnast and be proud to help them "unlock" their future.
